Dr. Cheryl Peters

Research Scientist, Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Research, Alberta Health Services, Canada

Dr. Cheryl Peters is a Research Scientist at Cancer Care Alberta and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the departments of Community Health Sciences and Oncology at the University of Calgary. She is also the PI of CAREX Canada, a national occupational and environmental carcinogen exposure surveillance system. She received her MSc and PhD both from the University of British Columbia, specializing in occupational hygiene and epidemiology.

OSH vulnerability – defined by exposure to hazards in contexts of inadequate workplace policies and practices – is more common among specific groups of workers: migrants, new and young workers and workers in the informal economy. This symposium will examine regulatory innovations to strengthen protection in the context of vulnerability.
