Dr. Raffaello Marcelloni

Raffaello Marcelloni is an Italian fully qualified actuary. He started his career at the Actuarial Department of INAIL (National Workers’ Compensation Authority). After a four-year working experience at INPS (National Social Security Institute), he is currently working again at INAIL.

He is the representative actuary of the Italian Institute and Board of Actuaries in the Task Force on Adequacy of Pensions of The Actuarial Association of Europe, as well as in the “Social security Committee” (SSC) and in the “Pensions, Benefits and Social Security” (PBSS) of the International Actuarial Association (IAA). Within the SSC, he is leading the Working Group on Compensation Programs.

He is currently vice-chairing the Technical Commission of Statistical, Actuarial and Financial Studies at the International Social Security Association.

He has participated in many national and international events as a speaker and has published several papers for the Italian “Employment injuries and occupational diseases journal”.

Workers' compensation and employment injury insurance schemes play a pivotal role not only in providing necessary compensations and rehabilitation to injured workers but also in enhancing prevention of occupational injuries and diseases. This session will highlight their efforts in both developing and developed countries to cater for needs of all workers through integrated strategies on OSH, compensation and rehabilitation.
