Dr. Sean Banaee

Assistant Professor, Program, Old Dominion University, United States of America

Dr. Banaee has been practicing Occupational Safety and Ergonomics for over twenty years in multiple academic institutions and industries. He received his Ph.D. in Occupational Safety from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2015. He was granted Dean Outstanding Award from UCLA school of public health. He also earned an Advanced International Degree in Occupational Health and Safety from National Institute for Working Life (NIWL), Stockholm, Sweden.

He is an American Industrial Hygiene Association Diplomat and Certified Safety Professional. Currently, he is serving as Assistant Professor and Program Director for the Environmental and Occupational Health department, Old Dominion University, in Virginia.

SYM4 - OSH Data - at the global, national and enterprise level

When reliable OSH data is not available, policy-makers, employers, and workers lack crucial knowledge for the prevention of occupational injuries and diseases. This session will examine data gaps at the global, national and enterprise levels and will highlight new and innovative tools for collecting and using OSH data.
