The XXII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work will be held online from September 20-23, 2021. Details on how to apply for media accreditation are below.

Congress Overview

The World Congress occurs every 3 years and serves as an important forum for critical occupational safety and health discussions within the global prevention community. This year, it’s Canada’s turn to host the world at the XXII World Congress, and for the first time in its 66-year history, will be an online, virtual event.

This year’s World Congress will feature a forward-facing program that addresses the central theme of the Congress: Prevention in the Connected. Age, Global solutions to achieve safe and healthy work for all. The three main topics for the Congress sessions are:
  • Innovations in addressing longstanding safety and health challenges
  • Implications of the changing world of work for occupational safety and health
  • Advancing a culture of prevention

An incredible and global lineup of sessions, speakers, and engaging discussions will bring critical prevention issues to light, and focus on opportunities for improvement and collaboration in the field of safety and health at work.

Congress programming runs across time zones and includes opening and closing sessions, six technical sessions, four keynote addresses, 21 symposia, and the International Media Festival for Prevention. Delegates will also have access to on-demand content for 30 days after the Congress ends.

Request a Media Pass

Applicants for media accreditation must show employment by or assignment for a publication or program that is previously established, independent and regularly updated with original news. Media accreditation is reserved for working members of the press only. This includes editors, reporters, and producers.

The deadline to request a media pass is September 10, 2021. Approved passes will be distributed on September 14, 2021.
