Ms. Audrey Gilbeau

Executive Director, Nokiiwin Tribal Council, Canada

Audrey Gilbeau is a member of Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek located on the Southeast shores of Lake Nipigon located in Northwestern Ontario. She is currently employed with Nokiiwin Tribal Council in the role of Executive Director. In addition to her Executive Director duties and responsibilities, Audrey also supports member First Nations in areas of Governance. Through the “G’minoomaadoziimin – We Are Living Well,” Health and Safety Initiative Audrey has been integral to the development of the Spirit Builder Program which is a culturally appropriate Train the Trainer Program to address Lateral Violence based on cultural teachings and values.

Since 1998, Audrey has been dedicated to supporting First Nation and Indigenous organizations in areas of program, organizational and community development. Audrey’s experience in facilitation, community and program development, governance and engagement, and management have given her a broad understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that exist within First Nations and Indigenous organizations.

SYM2 - Violence and harassment at work

This session will focus on the prevention of violence and harassment in the workplace, including international legislative developments, case studies, and tools for prevention and return to work.
