Prof. Brou Yves Yéboué Kouamé

Director, Social Insurance Institute - National Social Insurance Fund (CNPS), Côte d’Ivoire

As a specialist in occupational medicine, I contribute to undergraduate and postdoctoral training in the field of occupational health and safety, and as an Associate Professor in human medicine, option occupational medicine. As such, I have carried out work in different areas of occupational health and safety: occupational medicine, clinical and industrial toxicology, ergonomics, informal economy occupational heath.

From 2005 to 2014, I headed the medical labor inspectorate housed in the Ministry of Employment and Social Protection of my country.

Since 2014, I have headed the prevention and promotion of occupational health and safety directorate. This body is responsible for implementing the occupational risk prevention policy of the CNPS-Côte d'Ivoire. It therefore carries out control and monitoring assistance activities for companies in the formal private sector, contributes to the training of social partners on occupational health and safety issues and conducts research programs. It has a metrology laboratory in the process of being extended to take into account biometrology.

Breakout Session C – Organized by ISSA: Vision Zero in Motion: Presenting the new Vision Zero Training programme and the new Vision Zero Proactive Leading Indicators

Launched at the last World Congress three years ago, Vision Zero has found a broad acceptance in the world of industry, organisations and occupational health and safety professionals. What started as a campaign has gradually become part of a prevention culture and a sound strategy to improve prevention performance beyond compliance. Following the demands of the occupational safety and health community, we have been working with businesses, social security institutions, researchers and professional training providers to take Vision Zero to the next level.

In this session the International Social Security Association will present to you
- The new Vision Zero Training Programme - a newly developed Vision Zero training course for companies, to be delivered by accredited Vision Zero trainers
- The new Vision Zero Proactive Leading Indicators – a guide to measure and manage safety, health and wellbeing
- Exciting experiences and Vision Zero success stories from the occupational safety and health community
