Dr. Elizabeth Lungu-Nkumbula

Elizabeth is Chairperson of ENVIS Consulting Limited with over 30 years’ experience in corporate finance and corporate governance. She considers herself a "Turnaround Manager." Elizabeth has the ability to take unhealthy portfolios and transform them into healthy and thriving ones. Elizabeth is Board Chairperson of Zambia International Trade Fair, and Mukuba Hotel Limited. She served as Board Chairperson at Mukuba Pension Trust and serves as a Board member of a number of institutions including ZAFFICO Plc. Elizabeth held various key strategic senior management positions in Zambia National Building Society that included Director Banking Operations and later joined Pan African Building Society as Managing Director before His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zambia appointed her as Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer for Workers Compensation Fund Control Board. Here, she successfully set in motion the National Launch of Vision Zero Global Campaign in 2018. 

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration and a Master's Degree in Business Administration both majoring in Finance. Elizabeth served as the first Zambian female President of the Agricultural and Commercial Society of Zambia and also as the Deputy President of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth in United Kingdom.

The changing world of work and COVID-19

The employment impacts of COVID-19 in many nations have been sharp and deep, while in others they have been less severe. In all nations COVID-19 can be seen to be shaping the future world of work. In this session, panelists will describe scenarios for the pace of global employment recovery, look at the future of work organization and the growth and impact of remote working arrangements, prevention measures for essential workers, the importance of social security protections, and policy reforms that may emerge in the post-pandemic period.
