Dr. Mohammed Azman is the Chief Executive of Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) of Malaysia. A Medical Doctor by profession, Dr. Mohammed Azman is instrumental in numerous innovations and initiatives to enhance SOCSO’s commitment to social security protection including occupational safety & health, employee health promotion, accident prevention, disability management, Return to Work programme, employment services and state-of-the-art SOCSO Rehabilitation Centre.
Dr. Mohammed Azman spearheaded SOCSO’s transformation to be the country’s outstanding social security provider. Under his leadership, SOCSO’s social safety net now covers a larger section of population including the self-employed, workers with loss of employment and foreign workers. SOCSO also assumes the function of National Employment Services provider.
SOCSO has been entrusted by the Government with a responsibility to implement several initiatives under Malaysia’s National Economic Recovery Plan following COVID-19 pandemic, namely the Wage Subsidy Programme, National Job Portal, Hiring & Training Assistance for Businesses as well as Social Protection for Gig Workers and Employees Working from Home.
Dr. Mohammed Azman plays a central role in various SOCSO’s initiatives that have gained international and local recognitions. Besides key responsibilities in the International Social Security Association, he also sits on the Vision Zero Global Alliance Council.
